Meet Darin Dietz

Born and raised on a small farm outside of Nashua, Darin Dietz is a life-long member of the Nashua Community. Years ago, the Cedar Lake was drained due to a malfunction in the dam on the Cedar River that controls the lake levels. Years would pass before discussion turned to action and the local FFA chapter joined in the efforts to rebuild the lake. With over 2,000 volunteer hours dedicated to the project through a variety of leadership roles, Darin would eventually be runner-up for the FFA's "National Building Our America Communities" (B.O.A.C.) Achievement in Volunteerism Award for his individual efforts.

After graduation from Buena Vista University with a double major in Business Management and Bank Finance, Darin moved back to Nashua to start Dietz Construction, L.L.C. and eventually Dietz Land Development, L.L.C. and his newest venture with Cedar Lake E-Z Docks. An active member of the community serving on the volunteer fire department, the Nashua Betterment Council and a regular at the City Council and Park Board Meetings, Darin continues to make Nashua a better place by becoming directly involved. A father of three, Darin wants to make Nashua a place where children will want to grow up and return to.

In 1991 as a freshman at Buena Vista University, Darin would say, "Nashua used to be a place people wanted to get out of. Now you only have to come on a Saturday or Sunday to see all the people enjoying the re-established Cedar Lake. There is such a sense of pride in the community." And Darin still carries that pride with him.
